After almost 15 years of combined Copic teaching experience with Imagination International, the North American importer of Copic Markers, Creative Color Café is officially opening our first coloring classes! We've been working hard behind the scenes to develop brand new curriculum and color new images to create the best possible classes for our awesome students! We are looking forward to our inaugural Concepts in Coloring and More Concepts in Coloring classes in Atlanta (Peachtree City area) on May 4-5. From there we'll head to Boston on June 1-2.
Concepts in Coloring is a two-day event. You may register for either or both days. Of course, we would love to have you there both days!
On day one, the Concepts in Coloring class is a full eight hours of class covering a variety of techniques, including basic care of your Copic markers, choosing papers and inks for Copic compatibility, blending techniques, and various uses of the colorless blender. We will explore textural effects with Copics and progress into rendering several beautiful botanical images in the afternoon.
On day two of our More Concepts in Coloring class, we'll spend the morning exploring basic color theory, and applying what we learn as we color a variety of images to reinforce those concepts. As we head into the afternoon, we'll put our skills to the test with whimsical people images, focusing on faces and hair. Finally, we will combine our Copic coloring skills with colored pencil on kraft cardstock, creating an "I can't believe I did that" masterpiece!
Both the Friday and the Saturday classes run from 8:30am to 5:30pm with a one hour lunch break beginning at approximately 12:30pm.
We hope you are as excited as we are about these new classes! If you'd like for us to come to your area, let us know by clicking "Contact Us" in the top menu bar. If we receive enough requests for a specific area, we will do our best to get there.
We can't wait to color with you soon!
